A night in with the lads or the girls. If you have a couple of mates who aren’t loved up, get the lads round! Maybe have a couple of games of poker or fireup the games console, get the beers in, and order every takeaway option going!
Head for the pub! With February 14th falling on a Sunday this year it’s a perfect opportunity to go down to your local, have a roast dinner and watch the footie, or head into town for a few cocktails!

Why Join A Dating Site?

January 12th, 2010

Dating coach Sharon Vickery

Dating coach Sharon Vickery explains why joining a dating site is essential if you’re looking for Mr. or Ms. Right this year.

Online dating is without a doubt one of the best ways to meet your partner. Yes, it has its flaws, but it works for thousands of people every day.

One of the first and most important decisions you need to make is how much do you want to find this new person to share your life with?  Finding love online can require patience and persistence, but the rewards at the end of the day will be priceless.

So if you’re looking for someone special this year, here’s why you should join a dating site:

1. It creates the opportunity to meet people that you’d never otherwise find.

2. It allows you to filter people out at different stages through emails and phone calls so you only spend time meeting the most suitable matches.

3. It’s far cheaper than going out to a bar, speed dating or joining a matchmaking service.

4. It’s full of people just like you, looking for love and a meaningful relationship, and it can be great fun if you let it!   After all, having a drink and getting to know someone is better than sitting home alone watching television, even if he isn’t your life-long Casanova! December Date Ideas

December 11th, 2009

There’s plenty going on before and after Christmas day, so if you’re dating you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to date ideas! Here are just a few of our favourites.

December is the time to….

Visit A Winter Wonderland

With outdoor ice rinks, Christmas markets, Santa’s grotto and children’s entertainment you can feel festive as early as you like!  Hyde Park spans twenty acres and has free entry, whilst others in Cardiff, Edinburgh, Northumbria and Centre Parks need to be booked in advance. Find out more about
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, or do a quick search on Google to locate one near you.

Cinema: The Avatar

If you’re both sci-fi fans, make sure you go and see Avatar, in cinemas from December 18th. It’s the most ambitious 3D film ever made. Director James Cameron of Titanic, Terminator and Alien fame, says his inspiration for the script was “every single science fiction book I ever read as a kid”. The premise is a paralyzed man controlling an alien body and it stars Sigourney Weaver and Sam Worthington.

Racing At Kempton Park

Get your glad rags on and have a flutter at Kempton Park’s Winter Festival on 26th and 27th December featuring the William Hill King George VI Steeple Chase. Will Kauto Star re-write history books and take a fourth successive title? Tickets cost from £8 or book the best view of the action at the Panoramic Bar & Restaurant from £49.95 per person. Telephone 01932 753518 or visit Kempton Park for tickets.

Take To The Slopes

Fill the days between Christmas and New Year with some skiing! If you’re lucky enough to live near Glencoe in Scotland, it’s £50 per person for ski hire, a lift pass and a lesson. Tere are plenty of dry ski slopes all over the country including Milton Keynes, Castleford, Braehead, Hemel Hempstead and the snowdrome at Tamworth. For details visit IfYouSki.com.

Visit Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Walk off some Christmas pud on a trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, the only one of its kind in the UK. The permanent collection contains work from Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth; and sculpture from one of Britain’s foremost artists, Peter Randall-Page.  Visit Yorkshire Sculpture Park for visitor information. New Year’s Eve

If you’re seeing 2010 in with your date, there’s plenty on in pubs and clubs up and down the country. If you’re looking for ideas, visit Ents24.com where you can search by location, venue, genre or for specific DJs or musicians.  Have fun whatever you are doing!
