The comedy circuit is packed at the moment, so take your date to laugh the night away at some stand-up.

Bill Bailey’s Remarkable Guide To The Orchestra
The loveable hairy comedian is back on tour, combining his surreal comic imagination with some of his musical magic on the ‘Remarkable Guide To The Orchestra’ tour.

Bill is performing alongside some of the country’s finest orchestras and is accompanied by the Academy Award© winning conductor Anne Dudley.  It is an irreverent guide to the instruments of the orchestra, plus 70’s cop show music, news themes, Bill’s own songs, and some of Anne’s specially written new works.  Be prepared to hear the trombone’s affection for Cockney music, and discover bassoon players’ secret obsessesion!

Bill begins in Cardiff on November 6th and ends in Gateshead on Decmeber 16th taking in Birmingham, Manchester, Dublin, Belfast, Liverpool, Coventry, Edinburgh and London’s O2 along the way.  Tickets cost £25 – £60 and are available at his website –   http://www.billbailey.co.uk/tour/

Ricky Gervais’ Science Tour
There’s no stopping Reading boy Ricky Gervais this year as he ends 2009 touring with his latest show Science.  Originally billed as a mini tour, tickets were selling out at such a rate that he added extra dates to the remaining venues.   The show has received mixed reviews, as has the fact he’s selling  autographs in the merchandise store for £10 a pop, but all agree that it is a funny hour – but not quite as hilarious as we’ve come to expect from the talented Gervais.

Simon Amstell’s Do Nothing Tour
There was plenty riding on Amstell’s Do Nothing tour.   After presenting Never Mind The Buzzcocks for three years and winning two awards at the 2007 British Comedy Awards, he quit in order to concentrate on his stand-up career.   His Do Nothing tour is the result and it hasn’t been in vain with a host of rave reviews for his self-effacing comedy, precise comic timings and controvertial musings.  He’s on tour until November 17th so catch him while you can!    Visit http://www.simonamstell.co.uk/stand_up_dates.php for dates and tickets.
