If you’re dating in London, whisk your date to Regent Street on Sunday 27th September for an exclusive, free Madness gig – you can guarantee the atmosphere will be electric!

It’s the first time the iconic street has been closed for a concert, but this is a triple celebration.   London’s shopping Mecca is celebrating 180 years of history, its Absolute Radio’s first birthday, and Madness are 30! (Yes, a few of us shuddered at that fact here at JustSingles.com;  some of us remember their early years too!)

Regent Street will be partying in style all day with free live performances on the main stage including a rock ‘n’ roll birthday bash hosted by Absolute Radio Breakfast Show DJ Christian O’Connell and Hometime DJ, Geoff Lloyd.  There will also be a fashion show, stilt walkers, roaming street performers, a Ferris wheel and two giant Birthday cakes made of thousands of cup cakes that will be served at 3pm.

All the restaurants in adjacent Heddon Street and Swallow Street will adopt the birthday theme with special menus and cocktails, whilst outside Hamleys you’ll find a children’s lawn with face painters, animal characters, a birthday tea party, balloon artists and magicians.

Madness will take to the stage at 6pm, and the gig will be broadcast live on Absolute Radio, so even if you live outside of the capital you can still hear the band in all their ska glory!

The event and concert is free to all although Absolute Radio is giving away tickets to a limited access area with a capacity of 1500 in front of the stage.  If you would like to win tickets to this area, answer the following question and text your answer to the premium rate number.  Please read the terms and conditions before doing so.

How many people are in the current Madness line-up?
