Lembit Opik is dating Katie Green
We’re intrigued, slightly flummoxed and wondering just how he pulls it off, but the 44-year-old Lib Dem MP is now dating 22-year-old lingerie model Katie Green.
Apparently the pair met at a party a couple of months ago and according to the News of the World, friends say the ex-Wonderbra model is smitten with the Montgomeryshire MP.
This isn’t the first time the Lib Dem Casanova has been in the public eye over his relationships with younger women.
When his fiancée of four years, weather reporter Sian Lloyd ended their relationship in 2006, Opik dated Gabriela Irimia – seventeen years his junior and one half of the hot-pant clad Transylvanian duo The Cheeky Girls. Opik proposed to her on one knee at the Trevi Fountain in Rome, but Gabriela broke it off just four months later in July 2008. Now, a year later he seems to have hit the jackpot with the curvaceous Katie Green.
So how does he do it? Edwina Currie was singing his praises in the Daily Mail last week concluding that; “It’s pure, intoxicating power that makes otherwise unprepossessing politicians irresistible.”
Perhaps she is right, or perhaps it’s down to an abundance of charm and charisma – well, either that or an aphrodisiac aftershave!
